overcoming self-doubt: small steps to big confidence

it’s february and we’re over here already checking off some of our goals for this year for you all! something that we continue to discuss is how sometimes we find ourselves questioning our own strengths and weaknesses. do you ever find yourself in this predicament? maybe you’re someone who struggles with what feels like imposter syndrome (feelings of self-doubt, inadequacy, and fear of being exposed as a fraud, despite evidence of one's achievements) or you’re feeling insecure because you’re worried that you’re not ready for your next challenge. whether you're new here or a seasoned subscriber, our theme for this month is about finding new ways to boost your self-esteem, and starting 2025 on a positive and fresh start. we are all ready to have an open conversation about managing our self-esteem while tackling new goals.

last month we discussed decluttering and organizing resolutions! when it comes to achieving your new resolutions for this year, it's ok to feel a little nervous and insecure about reaching those new goals and challenges. it’s important to note that when trying new goals, you might feel excitement, scared, overwhelmed, anxiety, or even a bit of uncertainty. you may be feeling this way because you’re trying something new or are experiencing something that you haven’t tried before. take a second to pause and think about why you wanted to initiate this change, and then start to acknowledge that you’re more than capable of taking on this challenge. in some instances, it might require taking baby steps such as remembering to journal each day or writing down your goals to stay on track. either way, you are more than capable of reaching new goals and challenging yourself beyond your own expectations! go you!

some ways to help boost your confidence can also be through reassuring your self-esteem. some examples of this would be:

  • identify your strengths: find time to think about where your strengths and weaknesses might align. maybe you're good at big budget planning or being a leader in stressful situations. knowing what your strengths are can help you in identifying your superpowers in dealing with challenging situations.

  • practice positive self-talk: whether it's positive post-it notes on your bathroom mirror or saying prep talks aloud in the morning, positive self-talk can help keep you in a good mood. finding time to practice and express positive affirmations can also help with reassuring your confidence. saying affirmations out loud creates a powerful cycle of repetition, reinforcing your confidence with every word..

  • celebrate small wins: sometimes, we forget that the places that we’re in are where we were dreaming to be a year ago. it’s good to take a moment to appreciate the small wins. small wins can be finishing a long to-do list or staying active with a new hobby.

  • surround yourself with supportive people: surrounding yourself amongst other confident people will help you boost your self-esteem. we tend to mirror good personality traits.

  • treating yourself with kindness: the best way to practice self-confidence is treating yourself with kindness so that you feel loved and supported. this could be accepting compliments or practicing self care. also, being kind to yourself can help open doors for new opportunities for yourself.

  • sharing kindness: last but not least, one of the easiest ways to boost your self-esteem is by finding ways to share kindness, no matter how big or small. little tasks like giving a stranger a compliment or taking time to help someone else can really go the extra mile.

we want to help you on your quest of working on your self-confidence and growing your self-esteem. everyone deserves to be confident and living the best version of themselves. we also offer gift cards to those who want to share kindness to friends and family. we provide organizing, moving, and cleaning services online which you can find here
