your 2025 decluttering and organizing resolutions!

we are so excited to have you back here for the start of a new year together. get excited because we are going to be discussing some new wellness and organizing resolutions to help create that new version of you! focusing on new goals each year is essential to continuing to grow and creating new healthy spaces. here are a few tips and advice that our team of wellness & organizing experts would recommend in order to help maintain those goals from now until january 2026!

take a deep breath in, breathe out slowly, and take a second to think about some important areas of your personal life that you would have wanted to focus on in the past but didn't have the time or resources to manage. it’s important to determine and utilize the right tools and resources for you to help manage your goals. here are some tips that we’ve all acquired over the years that we recommend.

  • taking baby steps: sometimes, we try to bite off too much than we can actually chew, and that applies to managing our own lives as well. start small and brainstorm what resolutions are most realistic for you to check off your list. by doing so, you’ll find yourself achieving more off your list and elevating some new resolutions, some that you might not have realized you could achieve.

  • journaling & reminders: the best way to keep track of your resolutions is to write them down in a personal journal, notebooks or set reminders on your preferred apps. it’s best to keep all of your resolutions in one place so that it's beneficial when looking back and seeing the progress you’ve made throughout the year.

  • improving productivity: finding time to manage your personal goals will help tremendously. examples of this can be by prioritizing your needs at certain hours of the day when you know that you’re most proactive (this can mean early morning or evenings when you’re least busy). other examples would be taking 30 minutes out of your busy work day to focus on maintaining and fulfilling your wellness and organizing goals.

  • new habits: when focusing on achieving your new resolutions, it's important to also find new habits to better help in achieving those goals. examples of this could be finding time to incorporate meditating during your regular schedules, listening to calming music to help you focus or even prioritizing going on walks more frequently. walking each day for 30 minutes can help boost your mental health but can also boost your cardiovascular, immune system, and brain health.

  • community: finding a close friend or family member to talk to can help relieve a lot of the stress around tackling these resolutions. by talking to someone, it can help boost emotional connectivity and develop a new perspective that you might not have considered in the past. also, talking to a friend or family member could allow them to join you on your journey as well, making the process easier.

once you’ve brainstormed some tools and resources to get you all set up, now it’s time to focus on some goals that you want to achieve. for some, examples of this can be wanting to put aside time to declutter rooms quarterly, deep clean spaces, and donate old items from their homes that are no longer in use. here are some ways to make these changes.

  • set time to declutter: creating time once a week, monthly or quarterly to keep your home organized can be the one of the best things that you can do for yourself. finding time on the weekends to declutter and reorganize before a busy week can help you stay on top of your schedule when things do get busy, and can help minimize a build up of stress. having a regular routine that is easy to follow will help benefit you in the long term.

  • set time to donate: once a month or quarterly is typically a good time to donate items in your home that are no longer in use. sometimes, the biggest hurdle is just finding the time to pack up your donation items and drop them off. keeping old items around your home can lead to more stress since old items are taking up physical and mental space. it’s important to find a routine that works for you by making sure those donation items get dropped off.

  • maiorganization in-home organizing services: we offer in-home organizing services to better help you stay organized and less stressed. our services include spaces for bathrooms, bedrooms, closets, home offices, children’s rooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, storage closets, and garages. we also offer recurring monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual services to guarantee that you keep your home up to date.
